Green technical colleges and the Eco-Culture nationwide project — pathways from technical education into Green University bachelor's programmes.

Resolution PQ-110 (25 March 2026)

“On comprehensive measures to accelerate environmental education, science, and awareness within the framework of the nationwide ‘Eco-Culture’ project”

In accordance with this resolution, 14 “green” technical colleges have been attached to the Central Asian University for Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University).

Main directions

Specialized subjects taught in the first year at the university will be introduced as special courses into the second-year curriculum of the “green” technical colleges.

Graduates who have successfully completed the “green” technical colleges and possess at least a B2 level of English proficiency will be granted the right to continue their studies from the second year of the bachelor's program, based on their academic performance (GPA).

Two-year programme structure

  • In the first year — 50% theoretical and 50% practical training
  • In the second year — 30% theoretical and 70% practical training

“Green” technical colleges are assigned based on their affiliation with botanical and dendrological gardens established across different regions.

Practical training areas

For students of “green” technical colleges, practical training is organized in the following areas within the system of the Ecology Committee and the Academy of Sciences:

  • Forestry enterprises
  • Hydrometeorological stations
  • Protected natural areas
  • Waste disposal sites
  • Botanical and dendrological gardens
  • Zoos
  • Practical training sites of the Institutes of Botany and Zoology
